Our Approach
We look at the system first.
We believe people come to work to do the right thing. When something goes wrong, we examine the conditions, procedures, and systems that shaped the outcome before we look at the person. Mistakes are signals to strengthen the system — not reasons to assign blame.

Nine standards we hold without exception.
01Work Authorization+
No work begins until the hazards are understood and the right authorizations are in place. Every task starts with a job safety analysis, and high-hazard work requires a valid permit before anyone picks up a tool.
02Line of Fire+
Staying clear of the path of moving equipment, vehicles, suspended loads, and stored energy. Before any task, we identify where energy could go if something moves, falls, or releases — and keep people out of that path.
03Isolation of Energy+
Hazardous energy is fully isolated and verified at zero before service or maintenance begins. Each worker applies their own lock, and the equipment is tested to confirm it's safe before work starts.
04Bypassing Safety Controls+
Safety controls exist to keep people alive and are never bypassed for convenience or schedule. Any exception requires written authorization and protective measures confirmed in place first.
05Elevated Work+
Falls are among the leading causes of serious injury in our trades. We eliminate work at height where we can, and protect against falls without exception wherever we can't.
06Confined Space Entry+
Confined spaces can be deadly without warning. No one enters without training, tested atmospheric conditions, a trained attendant, and a rescue plan confirmed before entry.
07Hot Work+
Welding, cutting, and grinding create ignition sources that demand control. Flammable materials are cleared or shielded, fire watch is in place, and the area is verified safe before work begins.
08Safe Mechanical Lifting+
No one works, stands, or walks under a suspended load — ever. Lifts are planned by a competent person, performed with certified equipment, and controlled with established exclusion zones.
09Driving+
Vehicle incidents are a leading cause of workplace fatalities. Everyone operating a vehicle on company business is licensed, fit for duty, unimpaired, belted, and undistracted.

Every MIG employee has the unconditional authority to stop work whenever a condition is believed to be unsafe — without fear of retaliation. No task, deadline, or instruction overrides it.
